Creating Creates Creating
I’m sure most of us are familiar with Newton’s first law of motion which states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. While that is meant to apply to the physical realm, I can’t help but notice how true this law is with creating.
When I start writing, I can’t stop writing. Ideas will keep popping into my head and before I know I have eight different ideas. These ideas branch off into other ideas and projects. Then someday I will stop writing and blame it on the myth that is writer’s block and then it all stops. The faucet turns off.
Planning and editing certainly have their place but they should not be used as a crutch or a reason to not deliver. The best thing we can do is start. Release something to the world and keep going.
